Css menu horizontal drop down based on the tutorial How to create a basic css horizontal drop down menu.
This drop down menu uses more ‘colored’ classes to apply a background image to each category with the css property background.
The result:
Compatible with IE7, Firefox, Safari, Opera.
Compatible with IE6, using the .htc file .httc as explained in the tutorial (included in the zip file - not applied to the above example).

Umm, In your “The result:” section, the menu has a problem. Mouse over “Link 1″; the menu drops behind “Link 4″, hence “Link 1″ menu item “link1-1″ is behind “Link 4″. Is this just CSS merely presumed to be compatible with FF 3.x? Did you actually test it with FF?
